The 8th China Barista Championship – Final (CBC 2010) was staged on Mar 30 – 31, 2010 at Hotelex Shanghai 2010. Within eight years, China Barista Champion (CBC) has developed to an important communication platform for suppliers, distributors, trade buyers from the coffee industry and spread the hot coffee smell around the country. Executive director of WBC, Ms Cindy Chang was at this show to talk more about the World Barista Championship organization.
The two-day competition was divided into two rounds. The first round gathered 11 eleven contestants from regional countries like; Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing…etc. Each competitor should make a set of espresso, cappuccino, and signature beverages for the judges within 15 minutes.
The top three winners, Shilin Gan- first place- from “Chengdu Mei Ming Trading Co. Ltd.”, Xin Wang- second place- from “Beijing Zun Ke Coffee Trading Co. Ltd” and Hongcao He- third place- from “Beijing Huo Li Coffee Co. Ltd.”, were selected by judges from Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Brazil, Italy and ten Chinese judges. They were qualified to represent China in their participation in the World Barista Champion 2011 in London.
The type of the coffee machine used in the show was: “Plus 4 You” from Astoria provided by RENDER COFFEE SHANGHAI CO., LTD. And the coffee bean “Caffe VERGNANO1882” provided by Shanghai Walton Concepts Economic & Trading CO. LTD.
During the show, Mr Zhou Yungui who will be representing his country China in June in the World Barista Championship 2010, gave a demonstration in front of the supporters.
During the competition, Mr Zhou Yungui who will go to London soon this June to attend World Barista Championship 2010 on behalf of China made a rehearsal in front of the supporters. Over the same period, the lectures about the semi-automatic coffee machine, coffee bean also allow the attendee learn a lot.
