The 19th Shanghai International Hospitality Equipment & Supply Expo (Hotelex Shanghai 2010) concluded successfully on 1st April at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). Splendid on-site events such as China Barista Championship, Hotelex Bartender Show, Uniform Show, and British Tea Time attracted thousands of visitors. “The Second China Coffee Forum” focused on the topics of overall situation of China’s coffee industry. More than 60 guests and professionals from the coffee industry participated in this forum.
Ms Cheng Hongmei, Deputy of Shanghai Tourism Bureau gave the opening speech. She said that during the upcoming Shanghai World Expo, they will introduce some special coffee drinks to the tourists that will certainly satisfy their taste, and Shanghai Tourism Bureau will fully support World Barista Championship (WBC) 2011. Ms Cindy Chang, Executive Director of WBC was present to introduce the organization to the visitors.
As the only authorized national institution by WBC, Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo Int’l Exhibition Co., Ltd. is always introducing world coffee cultures and developing the coffee perspective in China through holding China Barista Championship, national tour activities, judge lectures and coffee shows. Wang Mingliang, Executive Director of Shanghai UBM said that Shanghai UBM will cooperate with WBC and worldwide coffee associations and introduce world level coffee competitions in China to improve the communication of Chinese coffee learners and international coffee experts
