Machinery Mart 2008 proved a tremendous success beyond expectations

Returning to great acclaim recently was Machinery Mart, Thailand’s most important machinery and accessories fair, held from 9-12 October, 2008 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).  This event is the country’s year-end clearance outlet and a channel through which manufacturers can present their latest products to industrial firms and other SMEs. All in all, the event offers great convenience to sellers and buyers alike.

Organised by CMP Media (Thailand), Machinery Mart 2008 featured more than 200 exhibitors and 2,000 items of machinery and accessories. It attracted around 20,000 individuals and generated over THB1, 000 million in transactions – THB700 million during the event and a further THB300 million post-event.

Sanchai Noomboonnam, Project Director, said: “The number of visitors this year was more than double that of the previous year, and exhibitors were satisfied with how things turned out for them. That is why exhibition space for the 2009 show is already more than 40% booked. The current economic situation has also made such an event even more interesting. As such, you can rest assured that CMP will continue to further improve Machinery Mart as the largest collection of reasonably priced machinery and accessories in Thailand.”

“Our participation in Machinery Mart yielded success beyond all expectations. We were able to sell a large amount of machinery and also meet new clients,” said Charoenpruek Suthanagkorakul, Director, CNC Far East Machinery Co., Ltd., an importer of top-of-the-line machinery from Italy, Germany and other European countries.

Kovit Pooriyapun, Managing Director, Swentech Co., Ltd., an importer and distributor of packaging devices, said: “Machinery Mart was a success story for us. We will definitely be here for the 2009 show. And our exhibition space will be 30% larger to accommodate more products and visitors.”

Machinery Mart offers entrepreneurs a unique chance to enhance their competitiveness by investing in larger production capacity and new machinery to replace obsolete items. Machinery Mart 2009 is scheduled for 3-6 September, 2009 in BITEC, Bangna.
