On top of that your pension policy, likely what is called in the US a 401K, and other savings are largely in equities and they have dropped by a third or more. Latin American leather industry hit by collapse in demand

The leather industries in Brazil and Argentina have been knocked sideways by the fall in demand for all types of leather. Both countries export mainly to China, their largest customer by far. Latest statistics indicate that Brazil’s leather exports declined by a whopping 60% in January 2009 compared to the same month in 2008 and, in the same period, Argentina’ exports fell by 50%. | Click here for complete article |
