The Prime Source Forum concept was conceived at the time of the ending of quotas, as mandated by the World Trade Organisation (WTO), in 2005, as many in the industry anticipated a chaotic situation.. Today, the challenges have changed somewhat, but the need for informal discussions have not as new opportunities and challenges present themselves.
Trade - "Free Trade or Fair Trade" - issues are high on the Forum agenda together with other topical subjects including, social responsibility, sustainability and the inexorable development of the eco- movement.
The two days of debate, to which all delegates are invited to contribute, will be led by some 50 panelists, each a specialist in his or her own field. Forum highlights will be the Keynote Address on the opening morning by Dr William Fung, group managing director of Li & Fung and, on the second morning by Rufus Yerxa, one of Pascal Lamy's deputy directors at the WTO will give a special address on behalf of the Organisation.
Prime Source Forum is organised by APLF and runs concurrently with two other industry related exhibitions, Fashion Access and Manufacturing, Materials & Technology, all held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
