The Winners
Best of APLF Awards, an initiative to cultivate and nurture talent and creativity in fashion-related industries – honoured nine Fashion Access exhibitors & four MM&T exhibitors this year with a winning title.
The project recognises design excellence, originality, innovation, use of materials and accessories and outstanding workmanship of products exhibited at both APLF-organised events, MM&T and Fashion Access.
Launched in 2004, Best of APLF Awards has proved immensely popular with APLF participants, one reason being that the recognition helps boost a company or brand’s profile on a global scale.
“It gives me immense pleasure in winning the prestigious Best of APLF award. This will surely be a stepping stone for my company to establish an international brand. The award has motivated us to a greater level,” said winner Mr Vimalan, Managing Director of handbag brand Calogne.
“Having won this award has definitely added value to our brand and we have been flooded with business enquiries,” he added.
Agreed Ms. Yao Lingqing, Manager of Xiamen Qilei, APLF winner of Best Man-Made Material: “Winning the APLF award will generate greater interest from customers in our products.”
“Selection for the winners takes place on site, although many exhibitors have been proactive in sending over designs beforehand,” said Perrine Ardouin, senior event manager at APLF. “We encourage exhibitors to take this initiative as it also presents the opportunity for their creative products to be showcased in our trends lounges.”
Best of APLF Awards’ panel of judges consist of industry experts with design or fashion expertise.

Xiamen Qilei exhibited at the 2009 APLF - Materials, Manufacturing & Technology Fair in Hong Kong, organised by APLF. The company was awarded for the Best Man-Made Material, for its range of materials that spell fantasy, fun, color and energy.
