UBM Asia
June and September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair gear up to create business for the jewellery industry

UBM Asia is the leading trade exhibition organiser in Asia, with more than 110 professional fairs held every year in Asia. The Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair is one of the most important jewellery events in Asia. It has two editions a year: June and September. Despite the tough economic climate, both editions remain on the growth path. The September Fair, in particular, is guaranteed to be 20 percent bigger than last year in terms of exhibition size.

June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair
The June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair 2009 features over 1,000 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions in about 40,000 square metres of exhibition space. There are nine group pavilions in the Fair this year, they are: Antwerp, China, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and the United States. Continuing its tradition of excellence for the past 21 years, the Fair this year unveils brand new facets that offer international jewellers a more comprehensive trading platform.

Hong Kong Premier Pavilion
Set to Amaze the World with Enchanting Hong Kong Jewellery
This year, UBM Asia proudly introduces the Hong Kong Premier Pavilion (HKPP) at the June and September Fair. HKPP is designed to answer the needs of Hong Kong exhibitors looking for a prestigious stage to spotlight their exceptional brands, high-quality products, service and corporate image. Located in Halls 1D and 1E at the newly expanded area of the HKCEC, HKPP features nearly 40 premier Hong Kong exhibitors, whose creations will surely delight both traders and connoisseurs alike. The ample space has a stylish decor befitting the exceptional quality jewellery pieces. Value-added services and facilities, including an exclusive restaurant, an Internet café, a business centre and concierge service, together create a relaxed atmosphere for business negotiations.

September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair
The September Fair is the only exhibition in Hong Kong that spans over two world-class exhibition venues – the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) – which have a combined gross area of approximately 100,000 square metres. The Fair will soar to new heights this year. In AWE, the Fair will occupy eight halls, making it 80 percent bigger than last year’s, while the Fair in HKCEC will make full use of the venue, including the expanded part of the exhibition centre. Almost 3,000 quality exhibitors will participate in the Fair, making this year’s edition the biggest thus far.

New layout to suit buyers’ needs
To facilitate the sourcing trips of buyers between two venues, a clear product sectorisation initiative will be implemented starting this year. That is, AWE will showcase loose gems, semi-finished products, equipment and packaging, while HKCEC will showcase fine finished products. Current bookings and the Fair’s expansion confirm the new policy’s success and the participants’ acknowledgement of the equal importance of both venues.

New pavilions on the stage
Apart from the addition of the Hong Kong Premier Pavilion, the September Fair will launch two other new pavilions:

  • Fine Gem Pavilion
The Fine Gem Pavilion is located in Hall 9 of the AWE. It will house only the finest – in quality and value -- gemstones, diamonds and pearls from 50 esteemed suppliers from around the world.
  • International Premier Pavilion
Located in Halls 3B & 3C of the HKCEC, the brand new International Premier Pavilion is ready to show the world the splendour of finely crafted jewellery. The pavilion will feature more than 40 prestigious international jewellery companies, presenting prominent jewellery brands and the latest collections.
Strong Participation
  • The biggest-ever Diamond Pavilion in the world
Located at AWE, the Diamond pavilion houses 400 exhibitors showcasing fine cut and polished diamonds in over 15,000 square metres of exhibition space. The world’s biggest diamond pavilion also features the AWDC pavilion from Antwerp and IDI pavilion from Israel.
